A bit about me

Husband. father. star trek fan. psychologist. Teacher. Coach.

I’ve worked in the field of psychology for over 20 years.  I earned my PhD in Psychology from the University of Arizona and have served professionally as a professor, advisor, consultant, and mentor.  I’ve loved every aspect of my professional work, but the two aspects that make me excited to get up in the morning are teaching and mentoring. In other words, coaching!
Coaching, for me, involves teaching clients about the science of human motivation and behavior change, and mentoring them as they put this science into practice in their own lives. The science of positive psychology, in particular, is featured prominently in my work. But coaching isn’t all I do.  I also explore Southeast Wisconsin with my family, I cheer on the Green Bay Packers (I’ve been told that this is, in fact, a requirement for residency within the state), I provide my children with a sophisticated cultural education by watching Star Trek (we’re working through Star Trek: Voyager right now) and reading classic Sci-Fi novels, and I coach little league baseball.  I’ve been known, from time to time, to express my heartfelt sympathies towards fans of a professional football team just a little bit south of here.
